We’re now using mobile devices more than our computers or
laptops. This means that it is more likely that potential customers will want
to interact with your business from their mobile phone. So how does your
business present itself through the screen of a mobile device?
Your business needs a website that works well on mobiles,
and visitors should be able to do what they need to do on your website, even if
it presents on a smaller screen.
What does mobile friendly mean? What is a responsive
website? Can I test my own website to see how it performs?
And what about mobile apps? Is that something that might
work for my business?
Luckily for us, Google itself has put out some
great pockets of information about all the particulars of doing your business
online. Doctor Digital recommends visiting Google’s Digital Garage where you
can watch short videos or read the transcript, and answer some helpful
questions to test your understanding. Each lesson will take you only about 10
minutes to complete. There’s 23 topics altogether, but Google can help you develop
a learning plan where you can pick and choose what suits you.
The Digital Garage topic 'Discover the possibilities of mobile' includes 3 lessons:
- The evolution of mobile devices
- Understanding mobile web and mobile apps
- Understanding mobile apps
