Module 1

Our brains LOVE audio and video.

Key Points:

  • Video is king, but audio is heir to the throne. Your brain loves video, we consume visual content differently from written, and retain 95% of what we see.
  • Video is huge on social media platforms, why? Because we imprint more heavily on the brand and information which equals more sales.
  • Video is built into platform algorithms, and is preferenced over static images and text, so you need video to be seen - people love it and really connect to it in ways that text never achieves.
  • When I’m talking video, I’m not talking full studio rig, although there’s nothing wrong with that if you have a cinematographer in your pocket.
  • Anyone who has a smartphone is equipped to make social and web-quality videos, with most platforms having inbuilt editing programs, filters and tuneups.
  • Are you freaking out about being in front of a camera? Why? You might not love yourself, but I bet your customers do. Being a talking head is just practice and what your customers want to see is you being real and authentic.
  • The more you practice the more you’ll find your groove. Let's have a look at some of the basics of video making with a little help from Andy.
